Glycemic Index Food List

The glycemic record, or GI, measures how a carbohydrate containing sustenance raises blood sugar. Nourishments are positioned taking into account how they contrast with a reference sustenance — either glucose or white bread. A nourishment with a high GI raises blood glucose more than a sustenance with a medium or low GI. It utilizes a scale from 0 to 100. The higher the GI, the more glucose levels are. Pure glucose has a GI of 100. Nourishments with high GI are quickly processed; then again nourishments with low GI are gradually processed. You can keep the high glucose side effects if you eat more low-GI foods, since they decrease insulin levels. Low-GI foods have numerous advantages and  they are great for weight control.

It is known that drinking water on an empty stomach works in the treatment of the following diseases: headache, body aches, heart system, accelerated heart beat, epilepsy, blood fat, bronchitis, asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney disease and urinary tract, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, diseases of the uterus, menstrual disorders, diseases of the ear, nose and throat.

  • Wash your teeth, but do neither eat nor drink in the next 45 minutes.
  • After 45 minutes you can normally eat and drink.
  • After the breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for two hours.
  • Those that are old and sick and unable to drink 4 glasses of water on an empty stomach, can begin with drinking water as much as they can, and then each and every day increase the amount until they reach the required 640ml .

How to lose weight with ice

Did you know that when you eat ice, you actually burn calories as the body requires energy to melt the ice cube. Surprisingly there is a study that suggests that ice can be a legitimate weight-loss tool.

According to Brian Weiner, M.D., a gastroenterologist in New Jersey and assistant professor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School- the whole idea of consuming ice for weight loss is increasing our basal metabolic rate.

This is because when you eat ice you provide two purposes of burning calories and consuming positive calories food. In order to digest frozen food our body uses its own energy to temperate the ice to the body temperature. So, consuming one liter of ice would actually burn 160 calories which is equal lent to the sum of energy that is worn for running almost one mile.

So technically, consuming one liter ice per day is safe, but at the same point beyond that, too much can be a problem. Too much ice can lead some organs of the body to not work optimally when the body temperature drops too much. In case of children who consume the ice diet, there ice consumption should be monitored and related to their weight unless their brain gets frozen.

Although there isn’t a 100% proven theory regarding this, one should be cautious while having ice during winters or when the body is too hot.

Coffee

For some people, coffee is the way to wake up in the morning, and to stay awake through the day, and when meeting with their special someone, they need it to give the “friendship” a gentle push in the right direction. If you are a coffee lover, you must rejoice because if you enjoy drinking coffee or drink it for the energy boosting effects, you are either way contributing to your health by drinking coffee every day.

Now, for people who don’t like the taste of coffee might want to rethink throwing it out or skimming over it completely because coffee can benefit your liver and other internal organs

In the recent years scientists and researchers have studied the effects of coffee on the human body and the results were astounding. Women who drank four cups of coffee a day had a 20 percent lower risk of being depressed than those who drank a cup or less per week. Gone are the days when coffee used to have a bad reputation, the aromatic cuppa is starting to become more popular in the health community.

Reasons you should drink coffee:

Liver health

The liver is a remarkable organ that carries out hundreds of vital functions in the body. Multiple studies have shown that coffee can lower the risk of cirrhosis by as much as 80%, the strongest effect for those who drank 4 or more cups per day. Coffee may also lower the risk of liver cancer by around 40%.

Boost your wits

Coffee doesn’t just keep you awake, it may literally make you smarter as well. The active ingredient in coffee is caffeine, which is a stimulant and the most commonly consumed psychoactive substance in the world. Many controlled trials have examined the effects of caffeine on the brain, demonstrating that caffeine can improve mood, reaction time, memory, vigilance and general cognitive function

Burn fat

There’s a good reason why you will find caffeine in most commercial fat burning supplements. Caffeine, partly due to its stimulant effect on the central nervous system, both raises metabolism and increases the oxidation of fatty acids.

Lower type 2 diabetes

Type II diabetes is a lifestyle-related disease that has reached epidemic proportions, having increased 10-fold in a few decades. In observational studies, coffee has been repeatedly associated with a lower risk of diabetes. The reduction in risk ranges from 23% all the way up to 67%. People who drink several cups per day are the least likely to become diabetic.
